Arduino, Wood, Computer, LED Lights
Light-themed prototype in the course: Digital Experience and Aesthetics. A light-themed design powered by an Arduino with coding. The lights' layout is inspired by star constellations, and the blue colour is inspired by fairytales. It is created to be a friend in the dark.
This artifact is made in the course: Digital Experience and Aesthetics. We created a board that is supposed to hang tilted above one's head. The board is painted black to imitate a night sky. The lights are blue because we were inspired, fairy tales and dream worlds, and because we see the blue light as calming. The layout of the lights is inspired by star constellations like the Cassiopeia and the Great Bear. The lights pulse just like real stars in different speeds, frequencies and brightness. They are ordered in random clusters, so there is no order in the amount and location of stars that shine and pulse the same. Except for the stars in the "corners", they are all coded in the same cluster. The Dream Constellation is supposed to be like a friend in the dark to make you feel safe and sound.
